Linda A. Poole accepted Christ as Lord & Savior at the age of 19 and began a life changing journey and a life long journey of study and love for God and His Word. Through the many years, she has served in various capacities: choir member, Children’s Choir Director, Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, and as financial secretary. In addition to her work at High Street Church of God, she has taught Bible in her home and Vacation Bible School in various churches. She also has served on many committees.
Rev Linda served at the High Street Christian Academy for 30 years. From 1980 to 1993; as a teacher; and from 1993 until its closing in 2010, as administrative principal. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Temple University, she also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and a Master of Science degree in Biblical Counseling, specializing in Professional Counseling from Philadelphia Biblical University. She worked also as an out-patient therapist at a local Community Health Center in Philadelphia.
Rev. Linda Poole was called into the ministry and preached her first sermon at an High Street Christian Academy’s “Academy Day” Service in March of 1996. She has served the High Street Church of God as Assistant Pastor since 2006. She was licensed as a minister of the Church of God Movement in 2010 and received her ordination on April 27, 2012. Rev Linda continues to serve the High Street Church of God as Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Pastor David E. Griffith in Philadelphia, PA. A highlight of her life was when she conducted an outdoor evangelistic service and led her father to the Lord a year before his death.
During the midst of many personal and physical battles, Rev. Linda has felt led to author an interactive devotional book and start a website that will bring the hope and comfort found only in Jesus Christ specifically for those who are also going through suffering. The goal of this website is to provide interactive Bible Study lessons and inspired articles that will help someone through their times of suffering; through the times of “bruised heels”. When we are out of strength and rely on God, we will be living testimonies that the excellency of the power is of God and not of us. Suffering allows God to show off in us. He shows His power when we are weak.
Lord, help us to glory in our “bruised heels” that the power of Christ may be upon us. Amen!
