Blessed

Psalm 89:14-18 (NIV)

14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.   15 Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.   16 They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness.   17 For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn.   18 Indeed, our shield belongs to the Lord, our king to the Holy One of Israel.

Blessed means happy and content.  Those of us who know the Lord, who lean and depend o Him, who trust in Him and rejoice in Him, who praise His name realizing that all of our strength, all of our help, all of our hope comes from the Lord are truly blessed.  We should be content and worry free, knowing that God is in control and directing every aspect of our lives.

Our God is a righteous God, which assures us that He does what is right and good.  He is always fair and just, so even though life may not always be fair, knowing that God is gives us confidence that He will work out everything for our good ad His glory. He loves us with an everlasting love, and there is nothing that can separate us from His love.  He is faithful, ad will do what He says He will do!

Indeed, our shield, which is what protects us, what keeps us from destruction is the Lord God Almighty.  We have reason to rejoice!
