Today I was so blessed to be talking to a dear sister in the Lord and she admonished me to "listen" to God. What good advice. While some debate if God is still speaking today, I ponder how many ways he is speaking to us and through how many things. Through all the hustle and bustle of life we have to listen to God. He doesn't always shout it at us, but sometimes he speaks in a still quiet voice. Sometimes it is through circumstances or through a friend. Sometimes it is through a sunset, or a flower. Sometimes, it is through a cat named Kip. My problem is not if God is speaking, it's if I am hearing him, are you?

3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.
