Step By Step Excepts from “Kept in Peace, Lessons I’ve Learned from Kip”

I really have to be careful when I am going down the stairs. You see, Kip likes to be right there with me. If he thinks I am headed for the steps, he takes off so he can go also. After I have given him a few false alarms, and have gone into another room instead of going down the steps, he becomes more watchful. So instead of racing down before me, he waits for me to descend one step and then he moves one step. I take another step and then he takes another step. This may continue for a few more steps, causing me to be wary of my safety. Finally, I shout to him “GO!” Then he is sure I am headed down the steps and he is free to take off.

PRAYER
Lord, help me to wait on you and not to take off by myself thinking I know the way. Help me to wait for your guidance every step of the way. Please Lord, keep me from going ahead of you. Teach me how to wait on you!

SCRIPTURES
Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
Psalm 25:4,5, 9

… cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
Psalm 143:8b
