Solomon’s Recipe for a Whimp – Part Two

Solomon's DESIRE led him into DECEPTION!   Solomon chose the life of many women which delivered nothing good to him, but instead, all the many women turned his heart after other gods when he was old.  He did not have a "perfect heart" as did his father, David.  Therefore DECEIT characterized his heart.

But as Solomon continued his descent from being wise to being a whip, we discover that he had misplaced DEVOTION.  Solomon "went after" other gods. I Kings 11:5 states, "For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites." (emphasis mine)  But I believe the depth of his DEVOTION was when he built a high place to worship as stated in I Kings 11 v. 7, 8. "Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab .... and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon." (emphasis mine)  He went after them and eventually brought them to him.  And if this wasn't bad enough,  can you believe that he did this for all his "strange" wives.  Remember, he had how many wives?

A whimp is defined as "an ineffectual person; a soft, silly person; a weakling (person who is physically or morally weak)

Oh yes! Solomon who once was known for his wisdom has become an ineffectual King over Israel, God's people; a soft, silly person, a morally weak person. A WHIMP!
